Certifications are the first thing a serious buyer checks, and the fastest way to lose a deal is a copied certificate or a grey-market battery. This guide explains what each mark means and what documents a factory should provide.
CE and EN15194 apply to the EU market. EN15194 is the European standard for electrically power-assisted cycles: it limits assisted speed to 25 km/h, motor power to 250W for the EPAC category, and requires electrical safety testing on the battery and charger.
UL 2849 covers the electrical system for the North American market, including battery, motor and wiring safety. Models built for the US and Canada need UL-listed components and a UL-compliant system design.
What to ask the factory: certificate copies with the correct model and batch numbers, test reports from the issuing lab, and confirmation that the certificate covers the exact configuration you are ordering. Every EBike Factory batch ships with certificate copies, serial numbers and a written QC report.
